Issue with an article on website and mobile

[edit]

Hi

Please can someone help? On mobile phone web version there is an image on an article that is overlapping the text making the website unreadable on mobile phone. So I saw a simple space between image and text fixed it. However a user claims doing that causes issues on the desktop website version. Is there anything that can be done to sort this as the last thing I want is a petty dispute. Many thanks Onshore

I have a WP:LOCALCONSENSUS issue where users are deliberately making articles inaccessible

[edit]

There are several parts of the MoS and general best practice for Web accessibility such as MOS:DTAB, MOS:TABLECAPTION, MOS:COLHEAD, etc. that oblige us to include some things and exclude some thing to make the site semantically correct and useful for the blind (among others). I have recently edited on some pages where I have added these required accessibility features and a small group of editors have removed them with the rationale (in my interpretation) being "we don't do that" and they seem to not really care that things like table captions are required. In spite of the fact that WP:LOCALCONSENSUS is written to stop a small group of editors deciding that "we don't do [thing that is required sitewide]", I don't see what the remedy is with this small group of editors who will just remove these required accessibility features when I add them. What am I missing? What is the remedy here to get this to stop? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 01:20, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

False information kept because of weiting style?

[edit]

On the Wikipedia, Eurylochous (Greek mythology) On Homer's book the Odyssey.

There is false information, About Eurylochous being one of Penelope's suitors and how he died because of this, And i changed this information to be true, However because my writing style did not match with how someone else wanted, it kept getting reverted back to the false information, And it's getting quite aggravating Because it's being reverted by someone, Who has never read the book or even has any knowledge on this topic, And instead of fixing the writing style they'd rather have false information on the Wiki. How do I know if my edits have been reverted?

[edit]

I've always been proud of my edit quality, and up until recently it has been perfect. However, it recently dropped to excellent and I'm not sure why. How do I determine which edit has been called into question? Harborist (talk) 01:59, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Harborist. What tool are you looking at that is rating your edits perfect/excellent? I am unfamiliar with such a tool. Anyway, you can see your reverted edits by visiting Special:Contributions/Harborist and looking for tags like "reverted". In the future you can ask questions like this at WP:TEAHOUSE. Hope that helps. –Novem Linguae (talk) 02:35, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Novum Linguae! The edit quality section appears under the Edits tab on the mobile version of the Wikipedia app and I, perhaps to my detriment, do all of my editing while using the app. I followed your advice and can now see all the information that you suggested I would find. Your assistance is most appreciated. Harborist (talk) 18:27, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not adding information about Bundelkhand lodhi in lodhi wiki page

[edit]

To include the Lodhis in the Kshatriya Varna, some new Puranas and Codes were written or Kshepak were added. Thus the Lodhis were proved to be Chandravanshi Kshatriyas. Although the Lodhi kings (aristocrats) of Bundelkhand and Mahakoshal region maintained their intimate relations with the subjects and farmers, which came in handy during the 1842 rebellion and the 1857 independence war. At present, the Lodhis claim to be Rajputs or Kshatriyas, like other Hinduised local communities, but this claim is considered ridiculous outside the Bundelkhand and Mahakoshal regions. The writers of charan vritti did not give any place in history books to the people who died for the country. King Hirdeshah Lodhi and his entire family are among such great freedom fighters.
